Today's Top News: Travel by Aeroplane!

Last week in a leap of faith we took our vaccines on the road to Oklahoma City for our nephew Connor's wedding. We took a Covid test before leaving and another upon returning and since both were negative I'm going to call it a successful weekend. It was a bit unsettling to all of a sudden get on a plane after not going to the grocery store for most of the past year. But the plane exprience wasn't bad and on the plane people were well-behaved from a Covid safety point of view. (A bit less so in the airports.) Once we were there most of our time was spent outdoors such as at the rehearsal dinner, above, with Kelle and Bob.

The wedding was on Saturday evening so during the day on Saturday we had brunch with Kelle and Bob and then we went on a downtown walk. Along the walk we visited the Oklahoma City Memorial which is very moving, as you can imagine.

The wedding was in a small church but the reception was on a rooftop and totally outdoors. The weather was beautiful and it was a great night for a party.

Brad had fun hanging out with his new buddy and the ringbearer, Arthur. Arthur's dad is our nephew Nick. Arthur is also a very energetic dancer. He danced with his sister Winnie all night, until he dropped.

I had fun hanging out with everybody too, including my sisters Kelle and Kathy.

At the end of it all I would say it was a successful first foray into the world. Next up is a trip to Iowa in July for my mom's funeral, and in addition to that we've already booked travel to see Peter and Mary in their new locales in the fall. After all these months of being under quarantine, I don't feel like I want to complicate my life with lots of busy-ness, but I do want to see people I care about. And on that note I'm super excited that a in a week we will have some (fully vaccinated) house guests: John and Troy and Brad's parents. Very excited!
