Why are our dogs hanging out by the front door? Could it be because the neighborhood dogs have come calling today? Two neighborhood dogs have appeared on our front porch - earlier this afternoon it was the Jack Russell Terrier from across the street, and just now it was a rather large Great Dane "puppy" from two houses up the road. (This, by the way, never happened to us even once in Shorewood.) Both were as calm and as relaxed as could be as they stood on our front porch, nose to nose with our dogs. If they could talk I think they would have said, "Could Allie and Kia come out to play?" Instead, Allie and Kia barked at them like crazy from inside, while each owner eventually showed up frantically looking for the meandering dog. (It's an effective way to meet the neighbors, by the way.) Now I'm wondering . . . who will show up tomorrow?
