Flashback Friday

When we were on spring break in England with the kids in April of 2006, we saw Antony and Cleopatra at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford. Last night, Brad and I went to see Antony and Cleopatra (at Shakespeare in the Park in Forest Park here in St. Louis) . . . . . with the best of intentions. We knew it would be cool for the 8:00 curtain, but the daytime highs in the 60s felt so good after the previous day's 50s and rain that we let our guard down. We went to the (outdoor) play with multiple layers, scarves, and gloves. We left our parkas at home, which didn't seem like a bad idea at the time . . . . . until the sun went down. Then all of a sudden it got really cold and really damp and, please don't tell our kids I said this (because it violates all theatre manners we taught them), but we left just before the intermission. (It was just so SO cold!) The good/bad news is that the play was fantastic. At least - thanks to our 2006 experience - we know how it ends!
