Ah, the good ol' days of Christmas past! This was our first Christmas after we left California, which makes it 1990 in Ithaca, and the picture was for our Christmas card, so it would have been taken sometime in December (in other words, not on actual Christmas). In my photo album I have fourteen attempts at this pose. (This was back in the days of film cameras and self-timers.) Comparing it to the other pictures we took in this sitting, this particular shot was the low point of the photo session as the boys look like they've had enough. Twenty-seven years later, it's worth a laugh. But back then, I'm not sure we would have agreed!
