Expectations

I decided to make a theme for this post: the things we don't (or do!) expect. My first picture goes back to mid-April. I didn't expect that Brad's thoughtful admin would send me a picture from his birthday at work. Nor do I think he expected to be celebrated at work on his birthday!

I don't think Jessa expected to get stuck when she drove through a puddle in Casablanca recently. And I also don't think Peter and their friend Josh expected to be pushing a car through water that day. But they did and everything turned out fine!

I didn't expect that there could be another way to frame the beautiful Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, but photographer Peter Harrison has proven me wrong! This is Jessa and her friend Alex, who recently visited.

When Peter and Jessa decided to collect prints depicting different Moroccan cities, I wonder if they expected to find so many? Seems like they have at least five hung throughout their apartment, and I would never have expected them to be able to get them all in one photo but that's what the Pano option is for!

We all expected Troy (and their Tufts friend Miriam) to finish in this weekend's Nashville Rock and Roll Marathon. But I'm pretty sure their expectations were not that the temperatures would be so hot and that it would be so sunny, but they both finished and can now put a check mark next to that goal!

John and Sirius took Troy to Nashville expecting to cheer her and Miriam on, perhaps with one or two other Tufts friends joining from Atlanta (where Miriam lives). What I know that John did not expect was that this whole crowd of Tufts friends from not only Atlanta but also Boston, DC, New Hampshire, and elsewhere would spring a surprise bachelor party weekend on him!

When I went with Brad to a fundraiser that his company hosted on Saturday night I most definitely did not expect to meet an actress from a show we love (Shameless), and even more definitely I did not expect her to say (after I gushed on and on about how much I love the show and her character) that I made her night and then give me a big hug!

But the one thing I can always expect is the love, support, and constancy of my partner of 31 years.
