Jessa Turns 30

Today is Jessa's 30th birthday! While she and Peter were still in the States, she had celebrations with family and friends. First up, she got a haircut!
After spending time in Pennsylvania with her family, she and Peter headed down to DC for the end of their trip. Peter managed to get a reservation for a birthday dinner at Maydan, a Persian restaurant in DC that's extremely popular. (I just Googled it and learned that Bon Apetit rated it the #2 best new restaurant in the country this year!)
 Yum!
To usher in her 30th year, Jessa also got her nose pierced!
Celebrating 30.
Also included in the birthday festivities: ice skating!
Some of their friends came from out of town to help celebrate. I know there were quite a few more than this, but here we have Brian (who came down from Chicago) and Thomas. You might be wondering why Jessa has a cat in a basket on her lap.
This is because they went to Crumbs & Whiskers, which is a cat cafe. If you've never heard of a cat cafe, let me tell you, neither had I. Not only can you eat there and hang out with cats, but you can also adopt them if you're so inclined. (Don't tell Peaches.)
But Jessa loves cats and hanging out with other cats was probably the next best thing to hanging out with Peaches. (Who, by the way, she gets to hang out with on her actual birthday since they got home yesterday.) Anyway, if we can't be there in person we're always glad to get to vicariously enjoy the milestone moments in our kids' lives, as well to get to share them on this blog. (Did I mention that photo credit for this post goes to Peter?) Happy 30th Birthday and Sto Lat, Jessa!
