Flashback Friday

This was Christmas morning in 2004 when we visited Brad's mom and dad. I was there too but it was before the days of selfies so someone had to be the photographer.

Flashback Friday

Last year's cousin convention was so crazy with sickness that I don't even have a picture of all three of them together. But this year we'll try again, and instead of three we'll have four now that Owen is on the team. We're excited to be in Baltimore and looking forward to a fun week.

Flashback Friday

Forty years ago this weekend the Posses and Harrisons met up at Chuck and Geneva's house in Covina on Thanksgiving weekend so the families could get to know each other. This is me, Brad, and Geneva at that event.

All About Rosie in Tucson

Rosie brought her parents to Tucson for a weeklong visit at the end of June. Here you see Rosie dressed for success as a swimming fashionista. However, let's just say her ensemble did not quite match her actual enthusiasm for the pool.

However, she did enjoy pushing the bubble mower (shown above), playing golf (especially pulling the cart), and playing with the t-ball set (her favorite part was carrying the equipment around the yard). But mostly she enjoyed mowing.

The great thing about mowing is it's also an indoor activity. This is important in the summer in Tucson.

Her favorite water activity was splashing the golf club in the kiddie pool. She discovered that she didn't need to get in when she could splash herself til she was soaked.

Rosie also enjoyed dining al fresco on the patio.

Great Grandma Geneva spent the week with us too. We got in some indoor reading time. This is at a local bookstore.

Ditto.

Morning is the best time of day in Tucson year-round, but especially in the summer. One day we went over to Agua Caliente Park where we got to see some turtles and ducks.

While in Tucson, Rosie got a taste of Wisconsin on her very first visit to Culver's. I don't need to tell you she's a fan, because the look on her face says it all.

Our group after dinner one evening.

This is one of my favorite pictures from the week. As John dubbed it: three generations of Harrisons.

Rosie thought my exercise bands were fun. It's never too early to start taking care of one's body, so here she is learning how to do physical therapy.

We went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant with live Mariachi music. If you've ever wondered how a toddler looks when she's just realized she loves the sound of Mariachi, then see above.

Just cuz.

One morning, Jessa and I went for a hike in Saguaro National Park East.

On another morning, we went to a storytime at the Children's Museum at a botanical garden called Tohono Chul.

Rosie loved the stuffed rabbit at the museum.

Before sending them off we had dinner at El Charro - it's over 100 years old and the oldest Mexican restaurant in the country.

She dipped and she dipped and she dipped her chip in the salsa until she about burned her tongue off. We all admired her dedication, even if it ended in (brief) tears.

Rosie loved Grandpa's babyccinos. And we love her and her parents. It was such a fun week with some of our favorite people. We can't wait until it's time for their next visit.

The Month in Cuteness and Some Adults Too

This post will have no rhyme or reason, just a bunch of random pictures of four cute babies from the past month. Here's Lloyd swinging in Denver.

Rosie was at the Warsaw Botanical Gardens last weekend with her newest prized possession: her backpack.

Rosie with some of her daycare buddies.

Owen turns 3 months very soon. He's found a new friend. Rosie also likes hedgehogs so they have that in common.

Freddie is 11 months and already driving.

A crime scene? Or two brothers taking a bath together? You decide.

It's summertime in Baltimore and Owen's ready.

Rosie turned 2 on June 2. This girl just wants to have fun.

Owen and Mary are getting a head start on some summer reading.

Bath brothers working side by side.

In Arizona, we had dinner in Sun City last weekend with Geneva, Barry, Wendy, and Kelsey.

I've spent the week with Geneva in Sun City. Yesterday she celebrated exactly one month since her spinal fusion. And today her 16th great-grandchild was born to one of our nieces. So it's been a good week.

Flashback Friday

John's high school graduation weekend in Shorewood coincided with Father's Day in 2008. This is still the only picture I have with just the dads and our kids. So once again I remember Father's Day on the blog with this picture. At the same time, I'm excited that John, Peter, and Andy are dads now. I know they'll have a very nice Father's Day with their sweet little ones. Happy Father's Day!

Flashback Friday

Today's Flashback is another picture from Warsaw. We're here and having a wonderful visit. I'll do a post when I get a chance. In the meantime, here are Geneva and Brad on May 1, 2001, at the Warsaw Uprising Monument.

Flashback Friday

On January 24, 2020, little did we know what that year would bring. Brad's mom and dad visited and all of Tucson is behind us.

The Harrison Christmas Cousin Summit

Lloyd, Rosie, and Freddie were here the week before Christmas. It was the first time they'd all been together. We got some sports equipment as an outside activity for Lloyd and Rosie, both of whom showed an interest in future careers as caddies.

When she wasn't caddying, Rosie spent time getting to know Freddie. It was her first time to be the big cousin and she took the job seriously.

Freddie's specialty is spreading the love. Everybody held him and he charmed us all.

Speaking of charming us all.

The pictures don't lie: Great Grandma was quite popular.

One evening we took a trolley ride to look at Christmas lights in a neighborhood called Winterhaven.

The next day we went to the zoo, where Rosie and her parents looked at the elephants.

And Lloyd fed a giraffe with his mom.

Back at home Rosie kept bonding with Freddie.

I brought this group to visit Aunt Joyce at memory care.

We had Christmas morning a few days early and no one was the wiser.

Rosie and Freddie are modeling the cousins' matching Christmas pajamas.
All in all the week was exactly what one would expect when seven adults, two toddlers, and an infant are under one smallish roof: a little bit of chaos and an awful lot of fun. Merry Christmas to all!
