Flashback Friday

Peter, Jessa, and Rosie are in Gołotczyzna, Poland, with some of their friends from the States, to compete at the 2025 Mölkky World Championship. It seems like a good time share a picture from the time they played Mölkky on Peter and Jessa's wedding weekend in June of 2022.

Flashback Friday

Since August is our anniversary month and Mary's same-day-as-our-anniversary birthday always takes center stage, I'll get a head start on the anniversary. This is from our rehearsal dinner at the now-defunct Swallow's Cove in San Clemente on August 22, 1986.

Flashback Friday

This week Mary and Andy flew to Costa Rica for their long-planned honeymoon trip. So today I'm flashing back to less than a year ago when they got married in Baltimore on October 7, 2023. In a way it seems hard to believe that all of our kids are married. On the other hand, in a way it also seems like Jessa, Troy, and Andy have always been a part of our family. I know Mary and Andy have been looking forward to this trip for many months. If the early reports are any indication, they're going to see some beautiful scenery and have a fantastic time.

Wedding Weekend: The Last Installment

In approximate chronological order, here are a few more pictures from the week in Baltimore, starting with our house on the corner. We were three doors down from Mary and Andy.

Farmers Marketing with Mary the weekend before.

Andy's parents had us over for their weekly Monday night family dinner.

We took a day trip to Philadelphia so Geneva could meet Rosie and see where Peter and Jessa live.

Previewing the wedding venue.

Checking out the Inner Harbor.

Swinging with Lloyd at Riverside Park.

Lloyd had HFM so this is as close as the cousins got.

Wedding Weekend, Part Two

A week ago today Mary and Andy got married. They started at their house, shown here on their front stoop. From there walked to the wedding venue, which was a half mile away.

The wedding was held outdoors at the American Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore on a beautiful October day. The reception was held indoors at the museum, right next to where the wedding was held.
Peter and John officiated.
Here's a picture of them doing the most important work of the day.
The Harrison family now officially numbers ten people!

And we're happy to now be able to count Andy's mom and dad as part of our extended family.

For the rest of the post, I'll share some pictures from the reception. To start off: Brad's mom Geneva with Peter and Rosie.

My sister Kathy and her husband Don.

Troy's mom, Esther, along with and Geneva.

Rosie came prepared for a loud party.
John, Lloyd, and me.

We interrupt these photos of wedding guests to bring you another of the bride and groom.
Brad with my brother Steve, Peter, and a tired Rosie.

Mary with Steve and his wife Amy.
My sisters Kathy and Kelle with John, brother-in-law Bob, and me.

Mary and Andy with Mary's uncles Bob and Don.
Troy, Lloyd, and John.

Peter, Rosie, and Jessa.

Two very happy parents.

Wedding Weekend, Part One

Mary and Andy's wedding weekend started on Thursday night with a Phelps/Harrison water taxi "cruise."

It was a beautiful evening at the Inner Harbor. Mary and Andy chartered this boat, which is usually used as public transportation. We had it all to ourselves and with some sandwiches and drinks it made for a perfect start to the weekend.

Rather than try to post photos with every combination of people, I decided I'd just post this one of the entire group. We were missing Troy and Lloyd (who was sick) and Andy's brother's wife. But they were back with us the following night for the rehearsal dinner.

Speaking of which, it's time for the rehearsal dinner! Of course I have to start with the stars of the show. They hosted a lovely outdoor rehearsal dinner at a craft brewery that was down the street from their house.

Mary Poss Harrison and her Poss aunts Kathy and Kelle, and of course her Poss mom. Most of these photos are from Kathy, who brought along her nice camera and did a terrific job of taking pictures all weekend.

No worse for the wear, Lloyd arrived ready to party.

Even though you might not know if from the scowl, Rosie brought her A game to the party too!

Me with my brother-in-law Don and my brother Steve.

Brad with my sister Kelle and his mom Geneva.

My brother Steve with Troy, John, Lloyd, and Jessa.

Mary's Aunt Amy and her godmother Aunt Kathy.

Jessa, Rosie, Peter, my brother Steve.

We weren't playing favorites, but to be extra safe since he had just been sick, only his parents and Troy's mom held Lloyd. This made Rosie in high demand.

The Harrison/Poss table, including Troy's mom Esther. Tomorrow: the wedding!
