This is way more than Two Turtle Doves. When I drove into the driveway this morning after Allie and I went for our walk, there were dozens of dovelike birds grazing on what must have been a very special delicacy in our backyard. Whenever they heard a noise (such as the arrival of my car, or the garage door opening), the entire flock would fly away at the same time into a tree, then all swoop back down when it quieted down. I didn't capture all of them in this picture, but you get the idea.
Every day is Christmas when you're as beloved as Allie G. Here she is with her brand new toy. She rips soft toys to bits so we've given up on those, but she is so playful and I am tired of her tossing hard bones all around the hardwood floors. Hopefully this rope toy will do the trick.
