A Whole Heckofalotta Snow

Okay, my whining about how Connecticut doesn't get as much snow as Wisconsin is officially over. We've now been hit with three doozies, and yesterday's was a record breaker. Not sure exactly how much, but it was around two feet. I wasn't home for it, so Mary took some pictures for me.
This gives you an idea of how high it is.  One more big snowfall and we'll have to shovel out our mailbox.
It's not quite up to Mary's elbows, but it's getting close.  Allie likes the snow but it's to the point where she needs a shoveled walkway to get through.
Not sure if you can appreciate from the photo how much snow there was to clear.  If it's any indication as to how big of a job it was, it's been 21 years since we moved from California to live in snowy climates, and yesterday was the day Brad chose to buy our first snow blower.  So that is a snow blown job, and in my opinion it's a thing of beauty.
This morning Allie and I tried to go on our regular walk up and down Main Street, but because few people shoveled their sidewalks our walk was cut short when we got to a point where we literally could go no farther.  We got through the snow in this picture but you can see it was still a challenge.
I missed the snowfall because I was in Aurora, Illinois for the funeral of my Aunt Dodie.  While we got together for a very sad reason, I must admit it was still nice to see my parents and siblings, as well as my cousins and their families.  This picture consists of most of that group, which is Poss, Bass, and Sullivan cousins, plus some Sullivan kids and grandkids.  And of course my mom, the only of Dodie's siblings who was able to attend.  (My dad was there too just not in the photo.)
