That is real, honest-to-goodness, brand-spanking-new greenery in the above picture, taken yesterday outside the town library. I remember these particular plants from last year. I walk by them every day, so I watched them grow to see what they'd become. My disappointment was that they don't amount to much at all (no flowers, just tall green stems that faded fairly early). For me, now they're all about . . . . being the first green shoots of the year.
