It's hard to tell how bad the hurricane (or tropical storm) will be, but the two main things we're told to get ready for are a lot of rain and the possibility of no power for days. In the "lots of rain" category, we decided to be proactive about all the runoff we get down our driveway during storms. So today Brad, Mary, and I bagged up some of the gravel that we're using in a gardening project and filled it in some burlap bags and pillow cases. With some luck, this will discourage some of the water from going down our driveway and causing the erosion we've become used to.
