HARRISONBOSTONPALOOZA!!!!!

This weekend we were treated to three days with our entire family together in Boston. Peter’s girlfriend, Emma, joined us too. It was great to be together. We also got to see a lot more of Boston than we ever have in one visit. Harrisonbostonpalooza was a big success!!!
Our first stop was a Boston Duck Tour.  None of us had ever ridden in a duck boat (not even in the Dells) and so it was a first for everyone. The ride lasted an hour and a half, and we spent about 20 minutes of that in the Charles River, as it's an amphibious vehicle.  Our guide spoke nonstop the entire time.  He taught us a lot about Boston, drove us all around the city, and kept us laughing the entire time.  It was fantastic, the time of day was perfect as it was just before, during, and after sunset, and even the skeptic in the group (and our first-born who shall remain nameless) admitted he had fun.

After riding the Duck Boat, we had a delicious dinner at a restaurant in Davis Square.

This is Brad and me at Harvard.  We spent part of Saturday at the Peabody Museum at Harvard.  We also visited the Natural History Museum there, but I wouldn’t exactly call it an official visit.  More like a fast walk through.  But we still saw some cool stuff.
Saturday afternoon we went candle pin bowling.  John was our champion.  He and Brad had a playoff, but with home field advantage, John was the winner.  We had a blast.

Saturday night we went to the Boston Common for a picnic and Shakespeare in the Park.  We saw All's Well That Ends Well.  John knew some kids who worked in the production.

Sunday morning we went out to our favorite breakfast place and continued what had become a weekend of nonstop eating.  John showed Peter some brotherly love before heading back to work for the day.

Meanwhile, the rest of us headed over to the JFK Presidential Library and Museum.  In this exhibit from the Democratic convention, Peter and Mary rep the 414 near the Wisconsin delegation.

After the museum we went to the Barking Crab for some Boston seafood.  From there we walked along Long Wharf and Quincy Market before Peter and Emma went to catch their train and the rest of us headed home to Connecticut.
