John has always loved to be a helper. At the age of four on an August day in 1994, he rode along while Brad mowed the lawn of our townhouse on Charles Street in Racine. (One thing I noticed in this picture. Brad and John - and they're both very warm-blooded - are wearing turtlenecks. And it's August. But then again, it's Wisconsin.)
