Moms and Daughters (and a grandma too!)

I loved the five days I spent at Stanford. I got there in time for Mary's 20th birthday. One of the things we did on her birthday was visit the Cantor Art Museum and Rodin Sculpture Garden on campus. Here  we are in front of a huge Rodin sculpture (or is it a door?) called The Gates of Hell. It sounds kind of depressing, I know, but that's its name.
My mom flew up and joined us for three of the days. Mary showed her a lot of the campus. This is Mary doing her best college tour guide impersonation with Mom being her one-person tour.
Me and my mom on campus with Hoover Tower behind us.
Everyone has to get their picture taken in front of The Claw. Here's my mom with Mary.
Remember I said everyone! This time it's me and Mary.

Who knew Stanford had a Marshall's! Actually, they don't. We drove to (nearby) Mountain View to go to this store. As you can tell, Mary and Grandma were rather successful. I think it's genetic.

After my mom went home, Mary and I went to The Tech Museum in San Jose. We got kind of silly at this exhibit.
Near to San Jose is Santa Clara University, so we went there and I showed Mary where I went to law school.
On Monday morning Mary and I "walked the Dish." It's about a three mile walk up to and around a huge satellite dish on the far edge of campus. It's hard to see, but that's the campus down below us. (I have a few more pictures from the trip that I'll put on the blog later, as I think this is plenty for today!)
