Until we get our tall fence built the deer are upon us in the garden, and the cold weather is about to be upon us too. So we decided to try to circumvent both by adding a raised bed on our deck. Brad ordered a kit and put it together yesterday. I added the soil and now we're ready to go! The plan is to plant salad greens so that we can have a longer harvest in the fall and an earlier harvest in the spring. As for the winter, our hopes aren't up but we're also going to see what we can do about building a cold frame to give the plants some insulation. It faces south, which will help a bit. So that's what we plan to do, but we'll never know how it turns out until we try. Now it's time to get started, so tomorrow I will plant!
