Welcome Wagon

We felt very welcomed when we were in Palo Alto last weekend for Brad's 30th college reunion. Our first greeter was Mary who, not surprisingly, met us on her bike. Maybe you can tell from the picture that the weather was welcoming too. The temperatures were perfect - in the 70s and sunny.

On our first night Brad's brother Brian and his wife Candace came over (they live about 45 minutes away) and met us for dinner in Palo Alto. (Mary was there too but you can't see her in this picture as she's behind the camera.)

Here she is! Mary only had a short time to be with us at dinner as she had marching band practice before dinner and a class after dinner.

The next morning our friend Annelise met the three of us for coffee before Mary's first class. It's great to see her when we're in town and it's so cool that she and Mary get to see each other even more often than that. I'm sure I've mentioned before that they first met when Mary was about two weeks old.

We have been to so many of Mary's volleyball games over the years, so it seems fitting that we should watch volleyball when we're with her. The three of us went to the Stanford vs. Oregon matchup on Friday evening. Sadly we had to leave early (Mary had marching band practice and Brad and I had to get to a reunion dinner) so we missed Stanford's come-from-behind victory. Little did we know we'd get to experience another come-from-behind victory the next day at football. More on that, and more on "Mary's in the marching band???" in my next post.
