Whether on the track or on the road, today's theme is wheels. Over the weekend Brad was at the NASCAR Phoenix event. (Above is the start of the race and I'm told that's Danica Patrick's car.) The weekend consisted of two days of NASCAR races, the highlight (and purpose of Brad's being there) being the fact that Eveready (one of the battery brands made by Energizer) was the sponsor for a car at this event. (They are a sponsor on a rotating basis.) Now, you probably know that the Harrisons like sports, but we've never gotten into NASCAR. Still, Brad had a great time and was wowed by the whole weekend. As for the kids and I ..... I think it's safe to say that since we weren't there ..... we still don't quite get it.
Here is Brad at the starting line before the race.
And another picture of Brad at the race, with a marketing colleague.
This is the Eveready car, with their driver Kyle Larson wearing number 32.
Another view of their car, at a pit stop. Brad said the people in white are referees who make sure there's no cheating going on during the pit stop. (I'm not sure how you can cheat in car racing, but I'll trust that it must somehow be possible.) Before moving on, I have to say ..... writing about NASCAR was really hard to do. I don't speak the language. If you know car racing and if I have just sounded like a dork ..... that's why!
Now onto more wheels and a subject with which I am intimately familiar. Today the movers arrived. They'll be here for four days and by Monday morning we'll begin unloading into our house in Saint Louis. Since our driveway is so narrow they opted to bring a smaller truck and they're planning to ferry our stuff to the big truck which is parked at their hotel. (People have asked me, where are your movers from? Connecticut? Missouri? I had no idea until this morning, but now I know. They're from Maine.) So ..... it's starting ..... again. And soon we'll be on the road ..... again.
