I'm happy to say that Mary arrived safely in Madrid on Wednesday morning. On April 2, 2002, she (as well as the rest of us) was in Spain for the first time. We spent the kids' spring break in Andalusia and ..... we absolutely loved it. I totally understand why Mary wanted to return. Here she is at age nine at The Alhambra (in Granada) - sneaking a reading break on the beautiful grounds there. On her current trip, other than the fact that eleven years have passed, much is the same as in this picture: she brought a black backpack, a pair of sunglasses, a favorite book (or two), comfy clothing, and a jacket in case of not-so-mild spring weather. She emailed us after she arrived to say that all was well, and by now she's in Barcelona on an orientation long weekend trip. We can't wait to hear all about her adventures!
