While in Tulsa we ate well. Steve cooked us some wahoo he caught in the Gulf of Mexico (above), as well as some venison from a deer he ..... he ..... he ..... how does one gracefully refer to an animal that someone else shot and killed? I'm not sure. But you know what I mean. (And it was yummy.)
Here is Annie the happy graduate (in glasses) having a nail painting session with her cousin Erin (my sister Kelle's daughter), who was visiting from Oklahoma State.
We went to a graduation party and enjoyed a nice (and not too hot) afternoon outside. This is Erin with Steve's wife, Amy.
Some of our crew at the graduation party.
Cute cousins Erin and Annie at the party.
We ran into Steve and their dog, Buck, on a walk. This trip was our first time to meet Buck, and he exceeded all the good things we had heard about him. He's a super sweet dog. He may be big, but he doesn't seem to know his own strength as he's super gentle and basically a big baby. (And when we got home, all of a sudden Allie looked really small!)My parents were supposed to drive to Tulsa from California, but they had to turn back after getting as far as Arizona due to my dad's recent knee replacement surgery. We were all bummed they couldn't make it. Even though they weren't there in person, we brought "Grandma-and-Grandpa-on-a-stick" so everyone could at least see their smiling faces. This is Grandma-on-a-stick getting ready for breakfast. (Thanks to Erin for this picture.)
And this is the Poss men (Steve, sons Nick and Connor, and Grandpa-on-a-stick). It's been a busy month for this family, as Nick graduated from college last week.
Steve and a very nervous Buck, checking out the incoming weather on Sunday night. Tulsa was super fortunate not to have had the devastating weather that occurred in Oklahoma City. Annie's graduation went as planned on Monday night (after we left town). Next up for her: college at Oklahoma State. Next up for my brother and Amy: moving to New Orleans. Next up for us: California next week!
