Flashback Friday

This picture was taken eight years ago, on November 10, 2002, when we were on a long weekend trip in northern Poland.  (November 11 is Polish Independence Day, which is why we had the long weekend.)  It was our last trip in Poland before we left the following month to move to Japan.  We took the train and visited Malbork Castle, the Solidarity Museum, the city of Gdansk, and the site where the Second World War began when Poland was invaded by the Germans on September 1, 1939, Westerplatte.  This picture of the kids was taken at Westerplatte (which is in Gdansk) and that's the Baltic Sea in the background.
