This is the first in what should be multiple posts about spring break 2011. Our first installment involves the spring breaker Mayya, who is Mary's friend from Shorewood. Mayya goes to college just a couple of hours north of us, and she stopped by here on her way home to Milwaukee. She and Mary enjoyed their long weekend together, including some puzzle time (above).
The girls worked diligently and got the Barack Obama puzzle put together in short order. In doing so, the phrase Yes We Can took on new apolitical meaning.
The four of us went to dinner on this past weekend's 23-hour long Sunday. (I must admit that every year I feel a little bitter about that missing hour.) I ordered chicken pot pie. As you can see, this monstrosity of a meal came with a (pastry) horse on top. As most of those who are ashamed of me know, I carry my camera with me at all times, so Mary confiscated it and here we have me with my horse-topped chicken pot pie. (Oh wait, there's more. Do you wonder why there was a horse? Would it make more sense if I told you the name of the restaurant was The White Horse?) It was delicious.
