The Game Is On

After all the rain we've had in the past couple of weeks, the warm sunshine we're finally getting today and for the next few days bodes well for spring.  This morning I saw for the first time some good indications in our yard of where things are headed.
I walked up the driveway to get the newspaper this morning and finally saw shoots like these all over the place.  Yippee!
This was our first daffodil to bloom last year.  It's biggest shoot I saw out there, so it looks like it'll be first again this year.
The birds were out in full force this morning, to the point it was almost distracting when I was reading the paper.  I can't capture it in a picture, but we had many varieties and they were very active.  I got this group in the tree to give you an idea.
The photogenic bluebirds don't seem to be very shy.  We've noticed they keep trying to pry up the string that Brad and Mary used to hang lights on the deck.  They keep coming back to see if they can get some of that string.
This looks like the same guy (gal?) I blogged about last week.  I just love the look on her face.
