The peaches are almost ready to pick. We tried one yesterday and it wasn't quite there. Probably later this week. I love how they look. I think we'll have 15-20 to pick. They're not very big, but if our tester is any indication, they'll be delicious.
Look, it's a tomatillo! We have the most amazingly large tomatillo plant, with loads of blossoms and bees everywhere. And for the longest time we had no fruit. The place that sold it to me swears up and down that we don't need a second plant to cultivate fruit, but what I read online seems to indicate otherwise. The plants are all sold out, but I found a person who works at a nearby nursery who had a tomatillo plant in her garden, and she gave me three cuttings. I have rooted them in vermiculite below the big plant. Next thing I know, we have a few tomatillos. Coincidence? I'll never know. But next year we'll plant two, that's for sure.
They are moving along slowly, but our first-ever canteloupe are coming along. It's been hot and they seem happy. Now let's see if they have enough time to mature.
The acorn squash sat around doing nothing until about a month ago. Now they're growing like crazy. For all the foilage we have there isn't as much fruit as I'd like, but I think I just need to be patient.
you are so good at this sue .. wish i have one percent of your interest :)
