Allie on Campus

We live near the main campus of Washington University, which is always referred to around here as WashU. Today Allie and I opted not to take our usual walk through our neighborhood and instead we walked through the campus.

I'm sorry to say I don't know anything about the buildings on campus so this post will not be a guided tour. We were just there to walk and to explore on a beautiful and warm morning.

The architecture is Gothic and the campus is very pretty. The school sits between our neighborhood (University City) and Forest Park (huge urban park with lots of museums, zoo, golf courses, etc.). It's half a mile from our house to WashU and a little over a mile from our house to Forest Park.

Even though school is still in session it was pretty quiet. Which was good as Allie likes her privacy.

There wasn't quite as much in bloom as I expected. (These tulips were an exception.) Though I'm sure when it's time for graduation next month that will change.

All in all, we had a nice walk and I think you can tell from these pictures that Allie approved! Although she missed chasing the squirrels that she finds every morning in our neighborhood, it seemed like she liked the change and the different smells. So we'll be back!
