A New Favorite Purchase

When we travel we sometimes check bags and we sometimes aren't sure if they're going to be over the weight limit. It's a hassle. I always thought the handheld scales were silly. But on last week's trip on the way to California our bags were already near the limit. For the return trip (and seven bottles of impossible-to-get California craft beer later) we knew we had to squeeze everything we could into our carry-ons, but that it'd still be nip and tuck. On a lark I bought this simple scale while we were in San Diego. And ..... it worked like a charm. According to this scale our baggage weighed in at just under 50 pounds. And ..... the airline's scale matched it perfectly! Even though we weren't 100% sure the two scales would agree, when we went to check the bags at least we had a bit of confidence ..... which turned out to be well-placed. (And this was so much nicer than approaching the airline's scale with anxiety!) This baby's going to travel with us from now on!
