Our experimental straw bale garden is ..... growing! Four tomato plants (all different varieties) and two jalapeño pepper plants (I'm already planning the jam!) seem at this very early stage to be fairly happy. This week my chores are to build trellising for the tomatoes and to trim the undersides of a tree (for said trellising). My hope is that this garden, while small, will be mighty. Time is - as always - the judge. I'll keep you posted!
