30 Years Later

Our weekend in Chicago to celebrate 30 years since college graduation was a big success! For the entire weekend the weather was as picture perfect as it looks here.

The first three of us arrived on Thursday. Beth (on the left) treated us to a Kiehl's skincare party and we were joined by her son Jack.

Jill arrived on Friday and we all met for lunch, where we were joined by Jill's son and his girlfriend.

On Friday we went to an exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago, followed by an afternoon snack at a local popcorn shop. And we even got a complimentary fun photo while we waited in line!

Friday night we saw a lively play called Million Dollar Quartet. It was filled with live 1950's era music and we all loved it.

On Saturday afternoon we rode a double-decker bus all around the city. It was great and we learned a lot about Chicago!

Beth had gone home by now so we were down to just the three of us for Saturday night.

And then after saying goodbye to Jill on Sunday morning, it was down to just me and Mary. We took an architectural boat tour on the Chicago River. It was beautiful.

The tour was interesting and scenic.

On Sunday night Mary and I had dinner with Ruth, a friend of mine and Brad's who lives in Chicago.

And then on Monday we headed home. It was good to see the Gateway Arch from the train on Monday afternoon. After a fantastic long weekend away with some dear friends, I'm happy to be back home again!
