Mid-July Garden Report

Our tomatoes and peppers are growing fruit! This is a purple tomato variety (well, it's not purple yet) that is the only variety we planted that has large-sized tomatoes.
Thanks to Brad the super fantastic tomato-worm hunter, the plant that these little pear-shaped grape tomatoes are growing on is now free of all vermin.
Our first tomatoes to turn color! These are grape tomatoes. (There's another red one in back that you can't see.)
I counted 11 jalapenos on our two pepper plants! I can already taste the jalapeno jelly!
This is how the whole garden looked when I arrived home yesterday. The tomatoes (two on the left, two on the right - peppers are in the middle and yes, one of them is really tall) are outgrowing their trellis and there's no room for me to add any more vertical space for them to grow. I think they are going to use the branches on the trees above for further support. (Hey, whatever it takes!) I'm curious to see how it all works out .....

  1. I can't get my jalapeno's to get that big and fat. Mine are long and skinny. What's your secret?
