Fourth of July, the Saint Louis Edition

We kicked off our July 4th weekend last night with a concert at the Missouri Botanical Garden. They do a free concert every week during the summer and thousands of people show up. It was packed! We got there early and had a great seat. We brought our picnic and had a really nice evening.

This morning we walked with Allie through the neighborhood. That's Brad and Allie in the picture.

On our walk we saw lots of neighborhood Fourth of July activities. This one looked like fun. I even got an invite to hop on. I didn't take them up on it - maybe I should have?!

Here's a sign for another neighborhood event.

Brad and I had lunch at a local coffee shop. While we were sitting outside, this formation of airplanes flew over and/or by us a total of three times. To take these pictures I didn't even leave my seat. It was super cool.

We got home and read in the local newspaper that there's an air show at the Arch Memorial today. So we're pretty sure that explains this formation. The rest of our day was spent relaxing at home, and we'll be here with Allie tonight taking cover (okay, she'll be the one taking cover) from all of the loud fireworks.
