Flashback Friday
This week we learned of the untimely passing of the kids' first teacher at Prairie School, Mrs. Mary Lynn Rodgers. (That's her in the center of the picture. On her left is another favorite teacher, Mrs. Singer.) I remember so vividly one of our first meetings with Mrs. Rodgers, outside of her classroom in August of 1992; Peter was excited to be joining her class that year, John couldn't wait until next year when it was his turn, and Mary was the brand new baby sister. Each of the kids was fortunate to spend a year in Mrs. Rodgers' classroom and she (and her assistant teacher, Mrs. McCarthy) literally launched each of our kids into school. They adored her and I know will always have fond memories of being Cook of the Day, doing the Body Rock, of singing while she accompanied on the piano, learning about monarch butterflies, and countless other events from being in her class. This picture is from January of 2001, saying goodbye before we moved to Poland.
