German Guests

On Thursday night we enjoyed a visit from my distant German cousin, Julia, and her boyfriend, Alex. (My great-grandfather and Julia's great-grandfather were brothers, but they never met as my great-grandfather emigrated here before her great-grandfather was born.) Julia was raised in the same house where my great- grandfather was raised, and her parents still live there, which I think is pretty cool. This is them with Brad and John and Troy last night after our dinner in Soulard.


After dinner we went to Busch Stadium to see a Cardinals game.


It was a fun evening. The next morning we said goodbye as Julia and Alex headed west to Tulsa (to see my brother and his family). Eventually they'll wind up in California and along the way see a lot of the country - and all of my family. We're glad we got to be on their route!
