This 1990 Flashback goes back 32 years. On the second of August, Brad and I and the boys drove away from his parents' house (which at that time was in Covina, California) and began our cross-country move to Ithaca, New York, where Brad would start business school at Cornell. On the way we made lots of stops to see relatives and friends. One of those stops was to the town where the boys' Grandma and Grandpa Harrison are originally from, which is Battle Creek, Iowa. Their Great-Grandma Harrison still lived there. That's her in the blue dress holding John. Next to her is the boys' other great grandmother on Brad's side of the family. Gan-Gan, as we called her, had long since moved to California, but she was back in Battle Creek for a visit. This is a rare - maybe the only - picture of the two Harrison-side great grandmothers with the two boys. (It might have been a better picture if only John had learned to say "cheese." But at age two months, he gets a pass.)
