Finally, Warsaw

Peter, Jessa, Rosie and their two cats have - finally - arrived in Warsaw. But not before going through a very stressful five days and nights of limbo after their original flight to Warsaw was cancelled. Their limbo involved staying at hotels in Queens near JFK, thanks to the full-on bungling of their trip by the airline. I'm told Rosie was MVB - Most Valuable Baby. And Peter and Jessa were MVPs - Most Valuable Parents. They found a park for her, they took her on the long trip into Manhattan for a day to visit the American Museum of Natural History, and they generally made what was a super difficult time into as much fun for Rosie as it could be. And ..... it worked! The above picture is Rosie at the park in Queens that was walkable from their hotel.

Rosie got to see a huge dinosaur skeleton at the museum, plus lots of other cool exhibits.

She got to ride the NYC subway. Which of course is passe for this experienced Philadelphia subway rider.

Pro tip from Rosie: the subway is a great place to catch up on sleep.

She got to have a burger and fries at the Hampton Inn.

And after five long days of waiting, she got to return to the airport.

She and her parents were very excited to be on the plane and on the verge of departing.
After their overnight flight, Rosie got into the spirit of the Polish tradition of clapping along with the other passengers when their plane landed in Warsaw.

And when she got there she received some nice presents from one of her dad's new colleagues, including a book that will tell her all about her new life.

And that new life got started right away, with an afternoon of apartment shopping and other errands before the three of them went back to the hotel for what was hopefully a restful - and relaxing - night of sleep.
