Thinking back to New Year's Eves past . . . . this year on New Year's Eve (day) we'll be saying so long to Peter (who takes the train back to DC after a too-short week with us) and to John (who is going to Boston for the New Year's weekend before returning home for a couple more weeks). A few years back - as the year 2002 was turning to 2003 - we had slowly journeyed by train from Warsaw to London and we were about to get on a plane to move to Japan. For New Year's Eve we met up with some friends of ours from Warsaw . . . and a couple of days later we said goodbye to our two years in Europe as we flew to Japan to start our life there.
