Flashback Friday

It's almost Easter, so I'll say . . . Happy Easter!  When I pulled out the old photo albums to look for Easter pictures for today's Flashback, I found pictures from so many years when the kids were dressed up in their Easter finest, holding Easter baskets, looking like three little adorable Easter angels, each year cuter than the next.  And then there was the year we lost our Easter innocence and spent Easter . . . in a bar.  (That's Brad, Peter, and John in the picture, in said bar.  Mary and I were there too, just not in this particular photo.)  It was 2007, it was over spring break, and we were on a huge college trip to the East Coast so that Peter (a high school senior) could decide which of the schools he'd been admitted to he would attend, and so that John (a high school junior) could visit some schools so he could decide where to apply later that year.  It was crazy, but successful, for on that trip Peter decided to attend American and John saw Tufts for the first time.  So . . . why are we in a bar on Easter?  Well, it just so happened that in 2007, the last day of the Masters fell on Easter Sunday, and what better place to find golf on TV than in a bar?  (This all assumes you understand that in our house the Masters - especially Sunday of the Masters - is practically as sacred as Easter.)  So we found that the basement bar area of Pizzeria Uno in Cambridge, Massachusetts, had plenty of comfortable seating and lots of TVs, so we settled in for the afternoon to eat the Pizzeria Uno version of Easter brunch (wings, pizza, beer and soda) and watch golf.  So while we don't have any pictures of three little cherubs holding their Easter baskets from the year 2007 . . . it was definitely an Easter Sunday we'll always remember.
